Just 1 week to go! Information for participants
6 juli 2024
Only 1 week until the start of the Gravel One Fifty. Read this information carefully!
Parking
This year we are guests in Peize, a nice village in the northern part of Drenthe. In order to ensure that the village remains easily accessible, we have set up a large parking lot just outside the village. We therefore urgently request that you make use of this parking lot and do not drive to the event terrain by car. Follow the signs as you approach Peize, then nothing can really go wrong. We have also set up a Kiss & Ride zone. More information about parking can be found here.
Handle bar plates + shirts
On Friday, July 12th, it is possible to pick up your handle bar plate all day (between 09:00 and 18:00) at Velodroom in Roden, the most beautiful and largest bicycle shop in the northern part of the Netherlands. Don't forget to take your ordered T-shirt or cycling shirt with you!
On Saturday, July 13th, we will be present at the event terrain from 06:30, where you can also collect your number. For more information, check our program.
Riders briefing
We are organizing a brief riders briefing on Friday, July 12th at 17:00 at the event terrain on Brinkweg in Peize. We will brief you on the latest developments regarding the course, starting procedures, and other practical announcements. It's fun and sociable, so make sure you are there!
Routes & courses
You have probably already seen the routes on our website. If not, you can find them here.
The Gravel One Fifty course consists of Dutch Gravel: dirt roads, grass strips, shell paths, gravel, and some necessary asphalt and cobblestones. The finale of the Gravel One Fifty consists of a technical grass section. Don't worry, we will mow this a week before the event!
Feeding zones
Of course, together with U-Sport, we ensure that you can refuel along the way at our U-Sport Energy Hubs. At all the hubs, you will find U-Sport sports drinks, and at U-Sport Energy Hubs 1 and 3, you will find a U-Sport Fruit bar and a U-Sport Energy Gel respectively. In addition, each hub offers a diverse range of items including fresh fruit and cookies.
Are you providing your own support? That is allowed, but not at the U-Sport Energy Hubs. It is too crowded there and that creates unsafe situations. Providing your own support is only allowed at the two designated locations. You can find these here.
Safety and environment
For many participants, Gravel One Fifty is a real race, with qualification for the Gravel World Championships at stake. That feels very important, but safety is even more important. Always keep in mind that you are riding on public roads. Our traffic controllers and motorcyclists do everything they can to clear the course of traffic (and we really do our very best for that), but we can never guarantee that you won't encounter anything. Always stay alert and do not take any unnecessary risks: take good care of yourself, your fellow participants, and other road users.
Finally: never throw waste in nature, but keep it with you. At the U-Sport Energy Hubs, you will find plenty of waste disposal points to empty your pockets.
Start waves
It is important that you start in the right wave if you want to qualify for the World Championships. We have created starting areas to which you have access based on your number and the color on the number plate. In your dashboard you can see which starting number you have and in which wave you will start (click on your ticket!), but you will of course also see this at the moment you have received your starting plate. Make sure you are in your starting area by 08:00 if you are riding 150km, so that the start procedure can run smoothly.
