Start and race: important points of attention
We want the Gravel One Fifty to go as safely as possible. You will ride during the race on public roads where there are also other road users. Therefore, we have motorcycles on the course and many traffic controllers along the route to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Green Flag Procedure
To keep the organization manageable, we move several traffic controllers with the largest groups of participants. This means that at the back, there may be no traffic controllers present at some crossing points. Participants at the back need to pay extra attention here.
To make this clear, we adhere to the green flag procedure:
A motorcycle with a recognizable green vest and a sign saying “green flag” will ride 75 minutes behind the leader.
If you are overtaken by this motorcycle, it means that not all crossings are still staffed with traffic controllers, and you are responsible for crossing safely.
This green flag procedure applies to both distances:
150 km (start at 10:00 AM)
80 km (start at 12:00 PM)
Together we keep it fun AND safe
Let's make it a great event together! Therefore, we ask everyone to adhere to the following rules:
Always follow the instructions of the police, organizers, and traffic controllers
Adhere to traffic regulations
Respect other road users and nature
Dispose of waste only in the designated waste zones, which are clearly marked with signs
The Gravel One Fifty is for everyone: fast or slow, young or old. We bike together, with respect and enjoyment. Abuse, pushing, or irritations do not belong here.
Refreshments at the U-SPORT ENERGY HUB
There are several U-Sport Energy Hubs on the route. Every 40/45 km there is a refreshment station where you can take a break and refill your drinks. To give your energy level a boost, there are snacks, fresh fruit, sports drinks, and sports nutrition available.
Self-care on the way is allowed. See also below.
Personal care is allowed
Self-support on the way is permitted. The UCI has determined that these do not need to be special zones anymore. This means that you can stand anywhere along the route, taking into account these conditions/rules:
Self-support/supply is only allowed on paved sections.
Self-support/supply is only allowed at least 1 km before or 1 km after a regular supply post of the organization > see above.
No self-support supply in descents.
To prevent littering along the course, there are waste zones where participants can throw away trash while riding; these zones are indicated by signs. Make use of them!
QUALIFICATION
The qualification rules for the UCI Gravel World Championships 2026 are as follows:
For the Gravel One Fifty, men up to and including 59 years old who wish to qualify must ride the 150 km. Men 60 years and older must ride the 80 km to qualify. Women up to and including 49 years old who wish to qualify must ride the 150 km. Women 50 years and older must ride the 80 km to qualify.
The first three riders in each official category qualify directly for the UCI Gravel World Championships.
In addition, qualification rights are only granted to participants who finish in the top 25% of their category during the Gravel One Fifty (or another UCI Gravel World Series event).
The 25% calculation is based on the number of participants in each category. This ensures fair representation.
Participants starting in the Elite category can only qualify for the Elite category at the UCI Gravel World Championships.
Only participants born before December 31, 2006, can qualify for the UCI Gravel World Championships 2025. The minimum age to participate in the UCI Gravel World Championship is 19 years.
HONORING
Below is the schedule for the award ceremony. Please note: all of this is subject to the time of arrival and is for indication only. Once the first three participants of a category have finished and the jury has determined the results, the award ceremony will take place. Participants who have finished in the top three are requested to report to the podium vehicle after finishing.
In addition to the medal that all participants receive, the top 25% of each age category will receive a special UCI medal. This can be collected from the organization.
